Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center

The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center is located in the heart of San Antonio along the historic River Walk. It was built in 1968 as part of the HemisFair and has been expanded three times to a total of 1.3 square feet. Meetings South readers have voted the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center the "Best Convention Center in the Industry" two years in a row.

Space

The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center has four exhibit halls with a total of 440,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space. The largest of three ballrooms is 40,000 square feet. There are 67 meeting rooms.

The Alamodome

The Alamodome is a multipurpose facility located on the southeastern edge of Downtown San Antonio. It was the home of the San Antonio Spurs from 1993 to 2002 and is the location of the annual Valero Alamo Bowl. The unique design allows events to have the advantage of both a dome as well as a convention center.

Space

The Alamodome has over 160,000 square feet of flexible space and can hold as many as 65,000 people. The Illusions Theatre has a state-of-the-art curtain and LED lighting and can be configure from 3,000 to 11,000 seats. Additional space is provided in 16 meeting rooms.

Transportation & Reach

Buses: VIA Metropolitan Transit provides bus and streetcar (rubber tired) transportation in the city connecting Downtown San Antonio, the South Texas Medical Center and the main campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Trains: San Antonio is currently the largest U.S. city to not have an intra-city rail system.

Other: Taxi service is available in San Antonio at the airport and at major hotels and venues.
